Why Use InstaGraphs?
I started as a high school math and science teacher in September of 1986. In 2005 I became an elementary teacher and school administrator and now have over 30 years experience as an educator. I have always looked for better ways to help students learn and understand. After years of having students taking notes, doing assignments, collaborating in groups, and problem solving, I saw the many different ways that students shared, worked, and learned. Being able to quickly record clear and accurate notes for concept development and future review, see a direct relationship between data or an algebraic representation and a graph, or share an accurate graph with the teacher or classmates are critical to student understanding. In 1999, I came up with an idea and developed InstaGraphs - fast sticky graphs. An accurate graph in their notes, integrated onto the same page as their algebraic work improves concept linkage; this is the main way that InstaGraphs improve student understanding, communication, and learning.
